What we do
The Leisure Health and Fitness Skillnet network provides training specific to the industry in collaboration with Ireland Active. We are dedicated to finding the best training solution to support business and employee development. Courses are provided for Ireland Active and REPs members which include leisure facilities, health clubs, education and training providers and gyms to name a few. We deliver a tailored, sector-specific training solutions at substantially reduced costs, to support leisure employers and their business needs.

The objective of Leisure, Health and Fitness Skillnet is to encourage and enable Ireland Active Members to grow their business and develop the necessary skills to excel in the ever-changing leisure industry.
Training Programmes: As the representative body of the leisure, health and fitness industry, Ireland Active endeavours to provide a wide variety of training that respond to educational needs of our members. This can include a wide variety of skillsets, from gym instruction, swim teaching to the latest exercise class trends to enhance individual skillsets and the sector overall.

Enhancing management capacity, particularly in SMEs, is key priority for all Skillnet Ireland networks. In addition to the programmes our network delivers, Skillnet Ireland has a suite of Management Development Programmes available to help business owners and managers improve business performance and enable businesses achieve better results. The Leisure, Health and Fitness Skillnet focusses on supporting those in employment within the leisure, health and fitness sector. A number of other Skillnet Networks participate in the Skillnet Ireland Employment Activation programme. This initiative is designed exclusively for unemployed people and includes free training in skills in demand by companies combined with direct access to employers through meaningful work placements.
